[dix-neuf] my feet are in the sky
Jun. 1st, 2012 01:27 pmYou know how, sometimes, music come into your life at just the right moment?
I bought Regina Spektor's What We Saw From The Cheap Seats, which came out this week; it's a fantastic album, no question. But I also got First Aid Kit's The Lion's Roar, and - it really. Got me, if you get my meaning. The lyrics...
I Found A Way
So the morning came
And swept the night away
As I was looking for
A way to disappear
Amongst the quiet things
And all these empty streets
I found a way, I found a way
To reappear...
and my favorite:
King of the World
Now I wasn't born for anything
Wasn't born to say anything
Oh I'm just here now and soon I'll be gone
I'm nobody's baby
I'm everybody's girl
I'm the queen of nothing
I'm the king of the world

To A Poet
The streets here at home had rapidly filled up
with the whitest of snow
And they don't make no excuse for themselves
and there's no need, I know
The streets here at home had rapidly filled up
with the whitest of snow
And they don't make no excuse for themselves
and there's no need, I know

And every morning that I wake
god, it's the same
There's nothing more to it,
I just get through it
Oh, there's nothing more to it
And every morning that I wake
god, it's the same
There's nothing more to it,
I just get through it
Oh, there's nothing more to it
I Found A Way
So the morning came
And swept the night away
As I was looking for
A way to disappear
Amongst the quiet things

I found a way, I found a way

Maybe I'm looking, thinking too hard, being the teenager I never was, relating to song lyrics the way I never did when I was 16, 17, 18; but I'm completely swept away by how moved I am by this album.
